At Metal’s, we have been manufacturing semi-finished products and complex assemblies in stainless steel for the medical sector for many years. We have in-depth knowledge of the exacting specifications and standards required by companies in this market, as stainless steel is one of the most widely used materials in the sector.
When a leading French group, specialized in the production of laboratory glassware washers and other electromedical devices, approached us to develop a new line of washing machinery, scheduled for serial production by the end of 2026, we were eager to seize the opportunity and leverage all of Metal’s expertise. This was, in fact, a competitive selection process: the client decided to evaluate three potential suppliers, Metal’s and two competitors, to identify the ideal partner.
The process began between late 2023 and early 2024, with an initial, intensive selection phase lasting over a year. Months of proposals, technical reviews, and weekly calls culminated in a particularly challenging request.
The requirement: produce a sample under extremely tight deadlines, compliant with the company’s specifications
The client was seeking a supplier to support a highly sensitive phase: the replacement of a long-standing machine line, operational for over twenty years, with a new series of laboratory glassware washers designed to remain on the market for the next 10 - 15 years.
This represented a critical step for the group
Accordingly, the client needed a partner capable of assisting throughout the design, development, and subsequent production of the new machine.
For this reason, during the preliminary phase, the client requested that all three potential suppliers produce a sample (without dedicated tooling) within very tight delivery timelines.
The objective was to assess not only the quality of the work but also each supplier’s ability to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with the company from the outset.
Metal’s response: delivering a fully optimized sample ahead of schedule
We accepted the challenge and focused on producing a sample fully compliant with the client’s technical requirements, already optimized to meet the typical specifications of electromedical machinery. Our objective was to provide a tangible demonstration of Metal’s expertise and proactive approach, even under tight deadlines. As a result, we successfully delivered the complete sample on time. And the other competitors?
"One week after delivering our sample, we learned that the client was still waiting for the prototypes from the other two competitors. This was a clear sign that we were on the right track." – Luca Regazzo, Technical Sales Manager.

Proactivity, listening, and collaboration: at Metal’s, we are first and foremost a partner for our clients
Once all prototypes were received, the client invited us to their headquarters in France to discuss certain modifications and evaluate the samples. During the visit, they appreciated the build quality and the meticulous finishing of the model we had produced. Some of the solutions proposed by our technical office, although not part of the original request, were included in the prototype and pleasantly surprised the client.
From that moment on, the company attentively considered every suggestion from our team and selected Metal’s as the partner for the development of the entire line.
We then initiated the design and production phase of the various machine components, advising the client on materials and potential improvements. One specific recommendation concerned the use of 90 °C-resistant glass reinforced with specialized treatments, which we selected in collaboration with our trusted suppliers. This enhancement was possible precisely because we control the entire supply chain, from procurement to delivery, and know exactly where and how to intervene to optimize a project.
The client enthusiastically embraced all our proposals and entrusted us with the production of the equipment. In the subsequent phase, we delivered the final sample with molds, proceeding thereafter with series prototyping. Full-scale production is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
A new collaboration that fills us with pride and drives us to excel
From the very beginning of the project, we have worked closely with the client to implement requested modifications and improvements, both before and after the testing phase, in order to refine the machine and increasingly align it with the company’s requirements and objectives.
Although the project is still under development and the collaboration is new for both parties, the client immediately recognized Metal’s as a key partner. They entrusted us with consulting services for the optimization, industrialization, and technical and economic enhancement of their stainless-steel laboratory glassware washing line. In turn, we were pleasantly impressed by the client’s highly structured approach.
Following the sampling phase, a team of key company representatives - including the R&D manager, quality manager, technical office, and purchasing manager - visited our facilities several times. Each meeting provided an opportunity to conduct thorough audits, which we always welcome, and, above all, to establish a constructive dialogue on how Metal’s could contribute to the technical and functional improvement of the product.
We are proud and motivated by this trust, as the company’s goal—to revolutionize a long-standing electromedical washing machine—is highly ambitious, and we are ready to demonstrate that we are the right partner to support them, now and in the future.
"From the very beginning, this has been a highly intensive collaboration, allowing us to quickly build a relationship of trust with a completely new client operating in a sector, the stainless-steel medical sector, we know well. Beyond the rapid delivery of a complete prototype and our proactive approach to modifications and improvements, I believe another key factor that led the client to choose us was visiting Metal’s. When a client visits our facilities, they can directly experience our working methods, production processes, technologies, and machinery park in which we have invested. They can understand how we approach a project and see that we can be a true partner, providing comprehensive service: once a contract is entrusted to us, we manage everything, including the finished product, if the client desires. Of course, and we never forget this, the quality of what we produce must be exceptional." – Luca Regazzo, Technical Sales Manager
